Prince Aurik
The prince
EXIOS · Act 1
Four heroes and one war-hound. Each fights differently. All of them lead from the front.
The prince
The prince
Son of King Vikrant and heir to the Exian Empire. Honourable, empathetic and decisive. A little too willing to believe the best of the people he loves. He never shoots first. He always finishes it.
Aurik fights up close with two blades: a glowing sunblade and a blade of pure Voidwater. When the range opens up he draws the shotgun off his back. Behind it all is flux, taught to him as a boy in the palace yards.
Sworn guard · flux mentor
Sworn guard · flux mentor
Captain of the Royal Guard. A war orphan raised in the barracks. Twenty years spent taking blows meant for the royal family. The closest thing Aurik has to a brother. He taught the prince flux, and he is still the stronger of the two.
Varek never draws the sidearm on his hip. He fights with bare, flux-gloved hands and raw gravity: brutal, untrained and very hard to stand up against.
In his own words, from the palace yards: “Feet planted. Let it come to you, not through you.”
Imperial Envoy
Imperial Envoy
The King’s own envoy, sent to the frontier to help the prince. Cool, exact and hard to read. Her flux is not a weapon so much as a toolkit, and her specialty is demolition.
Kira fights at mid range with a shotgun and a belt of flux charges that implode, collapse and breach. Nothing stays standing around her for long.
Old war ace
Old war ace
Once the Empire’s best pilot and a decorated ace. Now a semi-retired smuggler and a bit of a crook, who flies for the prince reluctantly and complains about it in a slow, dry drawl.
On the ground he fights from a squat, battered salvage walker he rebuilt himself, chin autocannon first. His ship never leaves the sky: he calls it in.
His philosophy, in his own words: “I never go into a battle without the proper firepower.”
Armoured war-hound
Armoured war-hound
A real dog, and a very large one, in scarred Imperial battle plate. Varek helped raise him. Nobody has told Garm he is not a soldier.
Garm stays at Aurik’s side for as long as he is standing. If he falls, a ship brings him back down once the cooldown runs out.
